    Plagiarism Policy

    Effective as of December 2021
Science, Education and Innovations in the Context of Modern Problems (SEI)

The Editorial Board of Science, Education and Innovations in the Context of Modern Problems (SEI) is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. In support of this commitment, the journal implements a strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of plagiarism and unethical academic conduct, in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

    🔍 Plagiarism Detection and Screening

All manuscripts submitted to SEI undergo plagiarism screening using reputable software tools such as Turnitin, iThenticate, and/or university-endorsed plagiarism detection systems. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit a plagiarism report along with their manuscript at the time of submission.

The plagiarism check includes analysis of:

    • The full text of the manuscript

    • Similarities to previously published materials

    • Instances of self-plagiarism or duplicate publication

    Acceptable Similarity Threshold

The journal applies the following similarity limits:

    • A maximum overall similarity index of 15%, excluding references, bibliographic materials, and standard phrases.

    • Any single-source match exceeding 5% (excluding direct citations with proper attribution) may require further review or revision.

Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds will be returned to the authors for correction, revision, or withdrawal before the peer review process proceeds.

    🚫 Unacceptable Practices

The following constitute violations of the journal’s plagiarism policy:

    • Verbatim copying of text from another source without proper attribution

    • Paraphrasing ideas or data without acknowledgment

    • Self-plagiarism: Reusing one’s own previously published content without disclosure

    • Data fabrication or falsification

    • Submitting work previously published elsewhere (duplicate publication)

⚖️ Actions Upon Detection of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified at any stage—before or after publication—the Editorial Board reserves the right to take the following actions:

    For manuscripts under review:

    • Immediate rejection of the manuscript

    • Notification to the corresponding author with supporting evidence

    For published articles:

    • Formal retraction of the article

    • Publication of a retraction notice with detailed reasons

    • Notification to the author’s affiliated institution (e.g., department chair, dean, or ethics committee)

📌 Author Responsibilities and Ethical Compliance

All authors submitting manuscripts to SEI are required to ensure:

    • The originality of their work

    • Proper citation and referencing of all sources used

    • Disclosure of any previous publication or submission of the same work

Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their submission. Ethical misconduct, once confirmed, may result in a publication ban or further institutional investigation.

    🔁 Retraction Process

If an article must be retracted due to confirmed plagiarism or ethical violations, the following steps will be followed:

    1. A formal investigation will be conducted by the editorial team.

    2. A written explanation will be requested from the corresponding author.

    3. If the explanation is unsatisfactory or the violation is serious, the article will be retracted.

    4. A Retraction Notice will be issued, including:

      • The title of the retracted article

      • Names of the authors

      • The reason for retraction

    5. The article’s PDF and HTML versions will be disabled and marked as retracted, but the metadata and retraction statement will remain accessible to maintain a transparent academic record.

    🎯 Purpose and Commitment

    This policy is intended to:

    • Uphold the credibility and reliability of scientific publishing

    • Protect the rights of original authors and researchers

    • Promote transparency, academic honesty, and trust within the research community

SEI is committed to applying this policy consistently and fairly for all submissions.
